EDM#61 Draw a Grouping

I'm cheating a bit with this, again using a previous drawing. I drew this just before I went on holiday. It is a pile of receipts. I was in one of those 'I want to draw something but I don't know what' moods. So I drew what was in front of me.

This has a braque or picasso feel to me. I really like it.

Carole, it's really neat. Love the color and the feeling of transparency. Beautiful

Carole,
Wow! Lady, you are a true artist. If I could sketch one receipt, I would feel like I could sketch.
In looking at them, I felt like I could feel a little rustle in the paper.
ALL of your sketches are very nice, the jonquils are very real.
I don't expect a good critique on the romantic thing, because I did it free style due to lack of time and it was true garbage.

mw - that is exactly what Rick said when he saw it!

Sioux - thank you!

Connie,
Thank you.
Free-style isn't necessarily garbage!

Love the way that you drew receipts ... on a receipt. Very clever. I like the sepia and white efect, too.

Cheers,

Unique that you thought to draw receipts. I just throw them in a drawer and never think that I would want to draw them. I like the kraft paper or colored paper you used. The effect is quite nice.

Dear Carole,
I sweated blood on a story that received great critiques from everyone in the class except the teacher who tromped it into the mud. I have been quite devastated the rest of the day today. It left me feeling strange, because one other I did she took the same approach and that is she said "If you are trying to create an eccentric genius and I don't think you are you did a great job." But, I was doing exactly that. Have you ever had a teacher do that?
I am so frustrated. And to think I am in the beginning stage of getting stories published.
I gues I'll just chalk it up to another writing day.
Thanks for listening.

Hi Connie,
It sounds like you have been rather unlucky in the teacher that you've been given. No creative writing teacher of any worth would say something so thoughtless. Luckily that has not happened to me, although I did once have a teacher say my stories were boring. Thing is, he was right! I did learn a lot from him once I got used to his style.
Keep going, I'm sure you will get there. You have so many stories you could tell!
