Some local pictures

I would love to be able to paint with watercolours. I had another go today. This is the old school house in the village (now conveniently a framing shop.) Everything I do comes out colourful.

I would also like to be able to sketch using more confident marks. So I tried a quick sketch of the view from the back window, using conte crayon. It's just smudgy. But - the more I practise, the more I will improve. Anyway, it's fun.

Carole, I especially like the way you suggested the dappled leaves of the tree.

I think this is a lovely composition and is expressive piece.
